
Biography
Federica Laura Maggio is a lawyer and researcher specializing in energy law and the ecological transition, with international experience in Europe, the United States, and Japan. She focuses on energy governance, sustainability, and fundamental rights, combining legal expertise with policy strategies to tackle the challenges of the green transition.
Today she provides legal consulting and assistance, particularly for companies and startups, supporting them in regulatory compliance, contract drafting, and access to funding, while continuing her academic research. In this capacity, she has conducted research at the Center for Sustainable Development Studies at Toyo University in Tokyo, the University of Maryland in Baltimore, and Universidad Carlos III in Madrid. Alongside her academic career, she also founded and managed a company, an experience that allowed her to develop entrepreneurial and managerial skills.
She has been a speaker at international conferences organized by the European Commission as well as Italian and foreign universities, and she is the author of articles and essays published in national and international academic journals, particularly on energy law and energy communities, sustainability policies and regulations, and administrative law.
A professional passionate about applying law to the major challenges of the contemporary world—such as sustainability, energy, and fundamental rights—she seeks creative and innovative legal solutions. Alongside her legal practice and academic research, she is also involved in associations, cultural initiatives, and civic engagement, with the goal of combining social justice and the energy transition.
